How we replaced our status meeting with a daily digest
Our Monday status meeting took an hour, involved twelve people and mostly repeated what was already written down. So we tried replacing it.
The new habit
Each person writes three lines before lunch: what shipped, what’s next and what’s stuck. A digest collects them for everyone to read.
What about real problems?
Anything marked as stuck gets a short call with only the people who can help. Those calls are better than the old meeting, because everyone in them has a reason to be there.
What changed
We got the hour back, and new teammates can catch up by reading the last week of digests.
